Creating Love

Baby Zoey is coming!

I have a new little granddaughter coming!  I’m so excited to hold her and to love her.  Zoey is about the size of an apple right now, but I’m creating my relationship with her as I think about her each day.  I’m working on a little quilt for her. I'm imagining what she will look like, how she will be with two older brothers.  All these things that make my heart so happy. Have you ever considered that connection and love is something you create?  You don’t really have to wait for it, it is completely in your control?  I don’t even need Zoey to be born yet to create strong feelings of love for her.

I admit, creating feelings for a new little granddaughter is about the easiest thing in the world, but it is possible to create similar feelings of love and connection with all the folks in our life.  You may not want to do that all the time… but it is possible.  We get to choose.  Who benefits the most from feeling more love and connection?  I know you know.

So why do we carry anger and worry and sadness and frustration around and hold onto those emotions that don’t feel good to us?  (Spoiler - We create those feelings for ourselves as well.)  I understand, life isn’t always sunshine and roses.  In fact, sometimes  I want to be mad, or sad or compassionate and that is fine.  As long as I know that I am choosing the feelings I am feeling.  Let me tell you, this is hard work.  I know it firsthand.  But, I have to say, it is really worth looking at and figuring out so that you can allow more joy into your life!

As with everything, life coaching can help!
